Welcome to High Road Middle School of Washington, DC. Nestled in the southwest quadrant of the city, just miles from the water front area and a stones throw away from the new Washington Nationals Baseball stadium, High Road Middle School opened its doors in August of 2006.

From its inception the mission was to continue to bring the best of what we have to offer to the middle school special needs population, but in another location. Replicating the success of our sister middle school program, (High Road Middle Academy, Kansas Avenue, NE) we have come a long way from where we first began. “Building Student Confidence and Competence through Personalized Academic Interventions continues to be the driving force behind our mission. This concept supports our theory that “we build our programs to fit the student, and not the other way around". Also paramount to the mission of the school is that “we never give up on a child”.

Our administrative and school staff and bring an array of experience in the areas of education, social services, recreation, child and family development, counseling and many others. Today one can easily witness as our students work to improve in all social, academic and behavioral domains. In addition to increasing student learning, one of our main goals at High Road Schools is to promote positive behaviors in our students.

Our schools share the philosophy that by promoting positive behaviors students will increase both academic learning potential and will also learn valuable skills to become positive and successful members of our societies.
