Educational Leadership began for me at the University of Southern California. I served as reading coordinator for the Joint Education Project. As the reading coordinator my job was to train and place USC students in neighboring schools as reading tutors. After graduating from USC, I joined Teach for America and started teaching elementary school in the inner city.  During my tenure as a teacher, I returned to graduate school to earn a Masters of Art degree in Education and a Masters of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Pepperdine University.

Equipped with experience and knowledge I decided to leave the classroom and find a position where I would have a more global effect on education. The opportunity to direct Sierra School of Santa Clarita was just what I needed. As Director of Sierra School, I had the opportunity to have an impact on the lives of many young adults. There was nothing more rewarding than seeing the SESI model help many students transition back to their comprehensive school site.  Directing also gave me the chance to meet many influential people in the field of education. The ability to network with public school representatives and showcase the SESI program became my passion.

This passion for marketing turned into a leadership position of another kind. I am now the Community Outreach Director for Sierra Academy and Sierra Schools of California. I am the luckiest person working in the SESI organization because I have the opportunity to work with not just one school, but five schools. All of which serve various special needs populations. I also have the pleasure of meeting wonderful people in the educational field up and down the coast of California. Talk about global!

I believe in the SESI mission…“To build the confidence and competence of children facing learning, language, and social challenges through personalized, academic interventions”. With this belief, my job as Community Outreach Director is made easier.

" As an Outreach Director of Sierra Schools I’ve had the opportunity to impact the lives of many young adults in California.”
