My current position as Chief School Director of the Maryland North region followed a series of exciting roles within the company’s various High Road Schools, which serve emotionally and behaviorally challenged students from 5 to 21 years old.  Prior to joining the Kids 1 team over 8 years ago, I accumulated experience in the fields of education and social work.  I was delighted to join the High Road School of Baltimore County as a social worker.  My original reason for becoming a social worker was to help children, especially those whose voices often went unheard.  Whether I was running a therapy group or facilitating an individual session with a student, I always felt the passion and desire to better the lives of my students, while allowing them to develop their own voice, one that resonates from within.

As I continued in my role as a social worker it became quite obvious to me that I wanted to grow within our company.  I was promoted to Associate Director of the High Road School of Baltimore County, where I cultivated my skills of empowerment and authentic leadership.  Soon thereafter, I was promoted to Program Director, then, Senior Director.  As the Senior Director of the High Road School of Baltimore County, I came to love leading people.  I thoroughly enjoyed the ability to make an impact with not only the students, but with parents, families, external resources, and my staff.  I developed a true affinity with those I lead, one based on respect, admiration and accountability.  I really hope that I can provide my staff with the tools that will help them build the best programs, the strongest staff, and the greatest results.  My staff has left me filled with great lessons and inspired leadership.  I hope that I have given them half as much as they have given me.
